Convenience Relationships

Ever had one? I was in one recently.. well it didn’t start as one but it ended being one and that too for a whole darn year. And what did I get out of it.. nothing but misery and hurt. Still not sure what I am talking about? Read on…

So I have met a lot of folks who are in some or the other form of a convenient relationship. What I mean is that they live their lives in a fashion which suits them. Sometimes they are married and they don’t live together and sometimes they are just lovers who see each other over weekends or whatever. They have a great time both physically and emotionally when they are together. And what more, they don’t have to deal with all the crap of living together. They don’t have to deal with the daily compromises. They still feel they are in love. But a love with benefits. A love where there is no compromise. A love where they cheat on each other, sometimes unknowingly. And then they eventually see that what they have is not love and is not leading them anywhere. And then the inevitable happens. They break up. And what do they have left.. nothing but memories, often bad and a whole lot of wasted time. That’s what I am left with.

Why do we not see it coming? Why do we keep trying to hang on to the last thread when we know that it does not exist anymore… why do we not learn from our mistakes and from others… why ….. any answers…
